THE COLOR OF HAPPINESS

Buildings and landmarks transport us to specific times in our lives and for good or bad, we often carry wherever we go. Maybe it was a first kiss or a proposal, a turn on a commute home, whatever it is - I'm obsessed and love capturing buildings around LA that mean something to myself or someone else.

Paradise Cove Beach Café

A place for the whole fam to enjoy, and even some tables on the sand!

Fox's

A diner lost in the Eaton Fire.

"Fox’s was an extension of home to us. My daughter was besties with the servers since she was born… she was only 5 when altadena burned. Sometimes I still accidentally ask her, “shall we go to Fox’s tonight?” 😢"

Vittorios

A Family run Italian restaurant lost to the Palisades Fire.

Cafe De Leche

"I loved this place, it was my neighborhood coffee shop and I would often visit with my son when he was a baby. I’m so happy they are rebuilding and can’t wait to go back after we move back home"

Cholada Thai

"Nothing beat pulling over on PCH to grab some killer Thai food while watching the sunset give off it's brilliant rays over the ocean. You are missed Cholada Thai!"

Little Red Hen

"I miss their food! I love their shrimp and grits!!"

"Their breakfast potatoes were bomb!"

LT1 Lifeguard Tower

A tiny lifeguard tower stood against the raging winds and hot embers during the Palisades fire, and to this day still stands. I thought that was worth remembering.

Aero Theater

A neighborhood staple that still plays fantastic old movies in this age of streaming.

Kuya Lord

A hot and trendy place with just killer food.

Suehiro

Many a weekend I sat at their tables making friends, reading manga, or just enjoying real Japanese home food, when all the city offered was Sushi or Teppanyaki.

Gladstones

A Palisades favorite, gone forever.

Pearl Dragon

Not lost in the Palisades fire, but to landlords that didn't care how amazing this place was.

The Burrito King Sign up the street

Can't forget the iconic donkey!

Burrito King

"My parents got engaged there! RIP Burrito King"

Moo Moo Mia

A commission of a delicious ice cream shop in Montrose.

Circus Liquor

We all know this clown.

Side Pie

"I look at the photos of my family there, sitting on the picnic benches, under the lights, numbered Dead show flyer sitting upright on the table, the tiled Steal Your Face in the background, with my Ram Dass “Love Everyone” hat on my sons head and wonder where the time has gone, where this world has taken us to. From over the fence to walking inside and placing an order Sidepie has left me with the best of memories. Forever my favorite."

Cafe Tropical

A gem of the Silverlake Community with killer coffee.
